Michelle Gaggini is President of First Recovery Group, a specialized subrogation company located in Southfield, Michigan. Michelle leads all operations and corporate business functions for First Recovery Group’s 23 million members and 200 clients.
Michelle joined First Recovery Group in 2013 after a successful career as a health plan executive at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Michelle was a key member of the BCBSM executive leadership team for over 25 years, leading enterprise progress in areas of operations, systems, and medical management, having a deep impact on the growth of these segments.
Michelle’s last position at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan was Vice President of Government Business where she implemented the first Blue group Medicare Advantage Program in 2005, growing that segment to a $3 billion business by 2012.
Michelle’s expertise extends to all functions of a health plan, especially cost and revenue management as a means of meeting health care spending benchmarks and managing administrative cost.
Michelle earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science at the University of Michigan and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Guidance and Counseling from Eastern Michigan University.
Michelle is the Treasurer of Samaritas Social Services of Michigan, serving as a director there for 15 years. She also is a member of the Regional Cabinet at Washington University in St. Louis and the board of Heartline of Michigan.
